Help: saving recipes to Tumsy

Pick where your recipe is to see the taps, step by step.

Other places

  • YouTube and Facebook

The same as TikTok: tap Share, then More, then Tumsy.

  • Cookbooks and recipe cards

In Tumsy, open Recipes, tap Saved, then + and Photo (with no recipes yet, tap Photo). Then snap the page.

  • Somewhere else

Tap Share, then Tumsy. Or copy the link, then in Tumsy open Recipes, tap Saved, then + and Paste a link.

What Tumsy reads

  • Posts and videos

From TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook: a recipe site linked in the post, the caption or description, what's said in the video, and the text on its cover.

  • Websites and pins

The recipe data built into the page, or the page's text when that data is missing or incomplete. For a pin, the page it links to.

  • Photos

The recipe text in the photo. Tumsy doesn't guess a recipe from a picture of food.

  • Pasted text

    The text you paste.

Not working?

Tumsy isn't in the share sheet?

Tumsy only shows when you share a link or text. Add it to your share favorites once and it shows in the row of apps every time. Add Tumsy to your share favorites

Tumsy couldn't find a recipe?

Tumsy can only open posts and pages anyone can see. Copy the recipe and paste it as text, or take a screenshot of it and add it as a photo. In Tumsy, open Recipes, tap Saved, then + and Paste text or Photo. With no recipes saved yet, tap Paste text or Photo.

A photo didn't work?

Use a clear, flat photo of one recipe, with its ingredients and steps in view. Tumsy reads only the text in the photo.

Do I need an account?

Saving a recipe with Tumsy, from another app, a link, pasted text or a photo, needs a free account: sign in with Apple. Free accounts get 5 imports a week; Tumsy Plus is unlimited.
